About

Alto is situated in the heart of the so-called ‘Golden Triangle’, and the farm’s position on the warmer northern slopes of the Helderberg make it ideally suited to red wine production. And yet the diversity of the farm allows for enormous complexity in the vineyards.

Product Features

• Previous vintage awards: 5 Star Platter
• A red blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Shiraz, and10% Cabernet Franc. 
• After malolactic fermentation, the component wines were aged for 18 months in new barriques of French oak, before the desired blend was made.
• Dark and rich in colour.
• Perfumed dark fruit backed up by cigar box and integrated wood spices.
• Classic pencil shavings and cassis are evident.
• Cassis and savoury spice on the palate.
• Vibrant, elegant but powerful, full-bodied wine.
• Pairs perfectly with red meat, poultry, casseroles, and even charcuterie and mature cheeses.
