About

Warwick Estate is a high-end winery in the Stellenbosch region. The estate has a rich farming history dating back to 1771. Then a fruit farm, Warwick only emerged at the forefront of South Africa’s wine scene when Stan and Norma Ratcliffe bought the estate in 1964 and started developing the land with an extensive focus on their wines. Through determination and commitment, Norma Ratcliffe became one of the Cape’s first female winemakers – and one of its most illustrious wine personalities, whose legacy is immortalised in the Warwick “First Lady” range.

• Award: Gold Michelangelo.
• Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks.
• Alluring notes of peach, strawberry, and green fig on the nose, leading into a bouquet of floral and strawberry notes on the palate.
• Enjoy on its own, or pair with a Caprese salad, hot pan-fried prawns, or even sushi.
• Alcohol by Volume: 11.5%

2 x The First Lady Sauvignon Blanc 2022

• After fermentation, the wine is kept on the lees for a short period of time to retain the beautiful aromatics and is then blended and bottled.
• Zesty and refreshing with a beautiful balance of cut grass and green figs and passion fruit on the nose. 
• Tropical fruits follow on the palate, pineapple, passionfruit, and ripe guavas leading into a citrussy fresh palate with a long lingering aftertaste.
• Pairs wonderfully with a salmon poke bowl.
• Alcohol by Volume: 13.5%

2 x The First Lady Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

• Deep dark fruits dominate with blackberry compote and black plum complemented by spicy aromatics of clove and cinnamon and a lovely hint of dried herbs.
• A magnificent companionship of bitter and sweet, dark chili chocolate.
• This wine is ready for drinking, but it can be aged for a further 3-5 years.
• Enjoy with barbecued pork spare ribs or grilled rib-eye steak.
• Alcohol by Volume: 13.72%
