The Rustenberg Estate was founded in 1682 and is nestled in the valley of the Simonsberg Mountain in South Africa’s premium wine region, Stellenbosch. Rustenberg’s rich heritage and ethos have been informed by many centuries of human influence striving to understand and work with nature to produce wines of distinct character true to their terroir, variety and informed style.
Product Features
- A red blend of Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
- This is a new vintage that has not yet been rated. Previous vintage was awarded a Gold medal at the Michelangelo awards.
- Aged for 16 months in 20% new and 80% 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th fill French and American oak barrels.
- Blackcurrant aromas are complemented by scents of dried herbs and notes of black pepper and spice.
- Followed by a palate with serious structure from the Bordeaux varieties and finishing off with softness from the Shiraz.
- Aging potential of up to 10 years from vintage under ideal cellaring conditions.
- Enjoy on its own or pair with pork chops, pizza, or flank steak.
