Product Features
Private Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
- Awards: 90 Points Tim Atkin, 4 Star Platter.
- The 2017 vintage was in many respects superior to the much famed 2015 vintage and this wine is a testament to that.
- As is typical with Cabernet Sauvignons from the Polkadraai Hills ward, this wine has an incredible freshness and elegance to it, even though the tannins are still young and firm.
- Beautiful aromas of tobacco leaves, plums and blackcurrant lead to a palate that is nicely weighted and finely grained.
- This elegant wine will complement most red meat dishes, venison, or creamy Beef Stroganoff.
- Alcohol by Volume: 14.25%
Private Collection Syrah 2017
- Awards: Top 10 WineMag Shiraz Report 2020, 4.5 Platter award 2021, 90 Points Tim Atkin.
- The Saxenburg Private Collection Syrah 2017 has a beautiful nose of black cherries, red berries and a hint of pepper and spice.
- The palate is seamless – the tannin dense, but finely grained. Hints of oak are beautifully integrated and only adds to the incredible complexity.
- A note of crushed granite and floral elements brings freshness to the palate that finishes with sweet spice.
- The Syrah reflects the efforts in the vineyard and winery to strive for greater elegance and balance while staying true to the heritage of Saxenburg.
- Cellaring Potential: 10+ years.
- Alcohol by Volume: 14.5%

- Drinking beautifully on release, but will gain complexity and texture over the next 3 - 5 years.
