About
Guardian Peak is named after the towering peak on Stellenbosch Mountain. It was founded in 1998 by Jean Engelbrecht, who combined his knowledge of international wine markets with his experience at his family wine estate in Stellenbosch to create a range of everyday-drinking, fresh and approachable wines. Two decades later, Guardian Peak pride themselves on producing sustainable wines of consistent quality that are friendly and easy to enjoy.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 (2 x 750ml)
- Award: 4 Star Platter.
- After fermentation, the wine was transferred to seasoned French oak barrels for 6 months.
- Elegant mulberry and blackberry notes with oregano and liquorice on the nose.
- A refined palate with a fresh acidity and grippy tannins accompanied by fresh plums, cherries, cedar and toast.
- Classically styled and well-integrated with a touch of tobacco on the finish.
- Serve with roast beef or lamb, or even a creamy mushroom risotto.
- Alcohol by Volume: 13.98%
Merlot 2020 (2 x 750ml)
- After fermentation, the wine was transferred to seasoned French oak barrels for a further 6 months.
- Bold red fruit on the nose, cranberry and pomegranate with thyme.
- Juicy combination of fig, red currant and black plums on the palate balances with savoury flavours of tobacco, cedar, and liquorice.
- Soft, silky tannins with a medium body and hints of milk chocolate on the finish.
- Serve with pizza, bolognese or stews.
- Alcohol by Volume: 14.09%
Shiraz 2020 (2 x 750ml)
- This Shiraz was vinified in a combination of open & closed-top stainless steel fermenters to preserve the fresh fruit flavours.
- After fermentation, the wine was transferred to seasoned French oak barrels for 6 months.
- Fragrant violets and black cherry with black pepper and toast.
- Spicy tannins and juicy fruit on the palate.
- Good balance of sweet and savoury spice, cardamom and coriander, seed balance Christmas-cake spice to round out crushed berry fruit and dark chocolate on the finish.
- Enjoy with beef steak, BBQ ribs, and burgers.
- Alcohol by Volume: 14.20%
