About
Vickers Armstrong was founded in 1927, but the Vickers name boasts a heritage that stretches much farther back than that, beginning in Sheffield in 1828. After merging with Sir W G Armstrong Whitworth & Company, it became a British engineering conglomerate that quickly established itself as an institution across the country and the globe.
