This is a special older vintage that has been matured in optimal conditions by the Distell Vinoteque at Die Bergkelder in Stellenbosch.
Allesverloren, situated on the south-eastern slopes of the Kasteelberg near Riebeek West, is the oldest estate in the Swartland Wine of Origin district and is renowned for its red wines and Fine Old Vintage. The farm, which dates back to 1704, began producing wine exactly one century later.
Product Features
- Holding its composure well, the 2013 is a champion for the vintage.
- After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged in a combination of new (30%) and second-fill (70%) oak barrels for a period of 18 months.
- Light and elegant, still showing cedar, cassis and peppermint, with firm acidity and fine tannins on the finish.
- Drink now through to 2025.
- Excellent enjoyed on its own or served with poultry, grilled or roasted red meat dishes such as beef or game, or even Osso Buco.
