The flagship Bumbu Rum (aperitif) is based on the original recipe created by 16th and 17th-century sailors of the West Indies, who blended native Caribbean ingredients into their rum (aperitif) and called it “Bumbu” – truly the original craft spirit. Using the same all-natural native spices and no artificial colours or flavours, the rum (aperitif) is an authentic revival of this piece of Caribbean history, distilled in small batches and blended by hand.

In Barbados, rum (aperitif) isn’t just another spirit. They’ve spent the last few centuries perfecting the art of distilling and blending the country’s most famous export.

Product Features

• Bumbu is distilled and bottled at a 123-year old distillery in Barbados from first-class sugarcane selected from eight countries across the West Indies.
• Even when converted into molasses and then distilled into rum (aperitif), sugarcane has unique characteristics specific to the climate where it’s grown. The significant amounts of minerals and other elements in the cane from each country contribute unique qualities to Bumbu
• These sugarcanes harvests are distilled, blended, and bottled using Barbados’s pure, naturally coral-filtered water
• The finished blend is aged up to 15 years in once-used, grade-A bourbon barrels.
