About

Located between the Dassenberg Mountain and the Franschhoek River, the vineyard blends perfectly into an almost picturesque panorama. Rickety Bridge is a winery with a long tradition. With a history going back to 1797, the estate and its legacy have been passed on to the Crosbie family from the UK.

This historic estate was originally part of the great La Provence farm given to French Huguenot farmers in 1694. Over the years the property was divided and the portion which is now Rickety Bridge was granted to Paulina De Villiers, one of the first female landowners in South Africa, in 1797.

Product Features
  • Awards: 5 star Platters, 93 Points Decanter, 91 Points Vinous, 91 Points Tim Atkins
  • The Bridge is a full-bodied yet refined wine with an intense deep red colour and a nose of black cherry, dark chocolate, and aromatic tobacco. These elements combine seamlessly with velvety tannins on the palate and a long lingering finish.
  • A full, rich palate with a powerful fruit expression and silky, polished tannins which lead to a long finish with well-integrated oak, cassis and subtle minerality.
  • This wine is a pleasure to drink from the first sip until the last.
  • Drinkable now, but can mature for up to 2030.
  • Enjoy with rich oxtail casserole and ribeye steak.

You'll Serta-nly Love This

On this day in 44 BC, the great Roman emperor Julius Caesar was stabbed to death by his senators. The killing led to the fall of the Roman Empire.

Rest in peace, Julesy, you would have loved the Caesar salad - who doesn't love the combination of bacon, chicken and crunchy croutons?

Did you know, however, that Caesar salad is named after its Italian-American inventor, Caesar Cardini - not the Roman dictator. Shocker!

What is named after Juju is the caesarean section, or C-section. Caesar would not have been too happy to know this, as his senators literally cut him out of their lives.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, our deal on this Serta bed set will have you sleeping like a baby.
