Vintage? A little cellar surprise. The vintage supplied will depend on availability at the time your order is placed, but you can always count on the same producer, the same varietal, and the same great wine.

About

The correlation between our SURVIVOR Wines Range and these indigenous cattle can be seen through the diversity of our selection of cultivars on specific terroirs, which is reflected in the uniqueness of each Nguni’s hide.

The history of the Nguni cattle is etched deeply into the soil of South Africa. A series of great migrations of Nguni-speaking people (from which these cattle get their name) brought this uniquely identifiable species into our country over 2 000 years ago. They are synonymous with wealth and status, and play a core role in many South African cultures. It’s this venerable tradition, and the story of one particular Nguni cow called SURVIVOR, that brought about SURVIVOR Wines.

Product Features
  • This intense dark coloured wine has a pungent rich nose of liquorice and black fruits with nuances of cloves, thyme and white pepper
  • With the aromas being so expressive, one would expect a bold palate, but on the contrary
  • Being full-bodied and well-structured these aromas are tamed and lay to rest on a layered palate that has a lot to give
  • With a long and lingering finish, this wine will ask questions of why you haven’t purchased more
