The name ‘Spook’ (Dutch for ‘ghost’) derives from the legend that one can discern a “spirit” within the swirls of our flowing farm spring. Perhaps it was this mystical allure that called the Davis family to this farmland two decades ago? Or perhaps it was the sheer beauty of its views and promise of award-winning wines? Thanks to the Davis family and the many talented hands that collaborated with them, Spookfontein now stands as an illustrious boutique wine farm, complete with a renowned restaurant and traditionally-inspired accommodation for authentic Hemel-en-Aarde getaways.
