About

Edgebaston Vineyard, situated in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain in the Northern reaches of the Stellenbosch wine region, is the home of David Finlayson's range of premium wines. With over 25 years of winemaking experience in South Africa and a number of wineries around the World, David Finlayson is a name synonymous with producing wines from top-quality Burgundian and Bordeaux grape varieties alike. Born and raised in Stellenbosch, a third-generation grape grower and vintner, David and his family purchased the run-down Edgebaston Farm in 2004 and began replanting and rebuilding to create the picturesque 30-hectare vineyard that is the Edgebaston Vineyard today.

• Aroma: A medley of small berry and fruit flavours including blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, mulberry, and blackberry combined with a hint of anise and vanilla
• Palate: A modern, fruit-driven South African Merlot featuring soft tannins and instantly gratifying berry flavours. Crafted with good structure and tannin concentration that allows for graceful maturation
• Pairs well with roasted duck, grilled lamb chops, mushroom risotto, pork loin, or mature cheeses
• Aged for 12 months in 2nd and 3rd-fill French oak barrels to build refined complexity while preserving vibrant fruit character
