Lourensford wines express their commitment as a family to the unique cultural treasures and land entrusted to us in the historic Lourensford Estate. Established by Governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel in 1709, Lourensford has a proud history as a world-class fruit farm and the wealth of glorious Proteas point to our rich floral heritage. Fortunately, the winemaking tradition was revived when well-known Cape businessman, Dr Christo Wiese purchased the Estate in 1998.

• This is a new vintage that has not been rated yet.
• Previous vintage award: Gold Michelangelo, 4.5 Star Platter 2023.
• 33% of the wine was fermented in new Burgundian style wine barrels and 50% in 2nd fill barrels
• 44% of the wine started fermentation in stainless steel tanks and was then moved to barrel halfway through. 
• 66% went through spontaneous fermentation on rocks from the vineyard and in a special fermentation egg.
• The wine spent 8 months on its primary lees with intermittent barrel rolling to stir up the lees and release the mannoproteins to add flavour and structure.
• Intense ripe pineapple and melon flavours on the nose, with white peach, apricot and hints of jasmine, lemongrass and ginger. 
• Flavours of butterscotch, orange peel, roasted cashew and hints of vanilla.
• Pairs beautifully with crayfish, duck a l'orange, or smoked haddock.
