Tucked into the exquisite Knorhoek Valley north of Stellenbosch, Muratie Wine Estate, under the stewardship of Rijk Melck and his family, has been at the heart of a lot of passionate debate. This debate is centered largely around the desire to protect a century’s old wine experience that is a magnet for wine lovers around the world.

• For current Muratie owners Rijk and Kim Melck, there could be only one name, the name of their baby daughter, Isabella.
• After the alcoholic fermentation (30% wild fermentation) the wine underwent 55% malolactic fermentation and spent 11 months in French oak before being racked and blended.
• In this fresh and elegant wine with its peach-blossom fragrance, and subtle oak, serving only to spice the stone fruit, melon and citrus flavours with hints of hazelnuts and vanilla cream. 
• It’s beautifully delicate and understated, with a pure, slightly piquant and lingering ‘mineral’ finish promising great charm well beyond the toddler years.
• Enjoy on its own, or pair with sushi or shellfish dishes such as garlic-butter rock lobster.
