Mount Vernon wines will always be handcrafted and of the highest quality. Uncompromising quality and attention to detail capture the core identity and beliefs as the Hooper family. They went to great lengths to select the perfect site to grow the grapes that would ultimately become the hand-crafted Mt Vernon wines. The Klapmuts region has a warmer climate and receives a cooling breeze from the south on many hot summer days. The winemaking process is done on location at the estate, enabling the farm to craft bespoke wines, such as their Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

• Award: Double Gold Gilbert & Gaillard.
• Deep dark core with tight, blue/black rim. 
• Initial nose packed with ripe, dark berry fruit. 
• Plum and cherry are firmly there with some char and vanilla. 
• Deep, full mouth with layers of ripe berry flavour. 
• Definite but soft tannins give good grip. 
• Berry flavours develop all the while and dominate the long finish.
• Enjoy with red meat dishes.
