About
The Simonsberg is named after the first Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel, after which Stellenbosch is also named. In 1699, he granted the freehold of this piece of land to Lourenz Kamfer, a German. It was originally named De Driesprong. The farm had various owners until Mr. Hans Otto Hoheisen bought it in 1938 as a retirement home for himself and his wife Deli. DELHEIM comes from the German for “Deli’s home”.

- Matured for 14 months in 300L French oak barrels, of which 45% were new.
- This wine shows classic Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics on the nose with lead pencil shavings, tobacco leaf and blackcurrant.
- These notes follow through on the palate as well as ripe red berries with fine tannins and a long finish.
- This wine will mature well for 7 to 10 years from vintage with the correct cellaring.
- Enjoy with red meat dishes such as beef steak, or roast lamb.
