This is a special older vintage that has been matured in optimal conditions by the Distell Vinoteque at Die Bergkelder in Stellenbosch.

Nederburg’s story started in 1791 when German immigrant Philippus Wolvaart acquired 49 hectares of land in the Paarl Valley. He named his property Nederburgh, in honour of the VOC commissioner, Sebastiaan Cornelis Nederburgh. Later, the ‘h’ was dropped from the spelling of the farm’s name and it became Nederburg as it is known today. The beautiful thatched and gabled Cape Dutch manor house that Wolvaart completed in 1800 is a national monument today.

• The wine was left on the lees for 72 months before the sediment was removed.
• A crisp and dry occasional release Cap Classique from Nederburg with a lively, crisp cut apple presence, deepened by biscuity savoury notes and good, firm mousse. 
• Time in the bottle has introduced notes of lanolin and lemon oil. 
• No benefit from keeping further, enjoy in the coming year or two.
• An ideal accompaniment to any occasion, it’s outstanding with fresh sushi, oysters and caviar, and fresh summer salads.
