About
The farm was passed from the Bergh family to the Louw family who lived there for several generations before it was eventually acquired by Arend Brink in 1897. While the Brink family originated in the Cape, Arend was a transport rider between the diamond and gold fields up north before settling on this farm on the outskirts of Durbanville.
This limited release Pinotage exudes characteristics of this uniquely South African variety – ripe red fruit, subtle toasty oak and an elegant tannin structure. This wine will develop further complexity with careful cellaring.
Product Features
- The wine showcases an array of bright red fruit on the nose, together with a bouquet of all spice, vanilla and cinnamon and nuances of dried rose petals.
- The palate is velvety with flavours of raspberry and mulberry which finishes with a lingering linear palate.
- Roasted Oak flavours lend themselves to game meat, in particular Springbok carpaccio or shank, rich roasted-tomato Italian style Gnocchi, or salty Olive tapenade and cured anchovy paste.
- Imagine walking through dried autumn leaves or sitting beside a crackling wood fire.
- Our Berliet knows how to bring atmosphere to a table.
