About

Alvi’s Drift Private Cellar is the coming together of generations of winemaking heritage and the uncompromising pursuit of a life-long dream - a vision to produce wines from our family farm that stand proudly shoulder-to-shoulder with the very best in the world.

Product Features
  • This is a new vintage that has not been rated yet.
  • Previous vintage awards: Gold Lumo Award, Gold Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition, Top 100 & Double Platinum National Wine Challenge, Gold International Wine & Spirits, Gold Wine Awards.
  • At least 30% of this blend comes from our complex, wild-yeast, barrel-fermented Pinotage, sourced from predominantly older vines.
  • The rest of the Pinotage in this blend is fermented in stainless steel tanks, bringing a freshness and vibrancy to the wine.
  • A beautiful, intense purple-and-black-cherry colour, this wine offers all the inviting, forthcoming aromas true to this classic South African variety.
  • Expect bramble berries, red cherries, dried banana, violets and hints of vanilla on the nose.
  • With smooth and silky tannins, this wine is full-rounded on the palate with a beautifully lingering fruit finish.
  • Enjoy this wine with spaghetti bolognese, charcuterie or Emmentaler cheese.

Deal with it!

Look, it's okay to complain from time to time. In fact, sometimes letting off steam can be good for you. Sat in traffic for 45 minutes en route to work? Definitely rant about it to your office bestie when you get there. Eggs Benedict cold when the waiter brings them out? Totally send them back.

Some things, though, are not worth complaining about. That bald patch? Wear a hat and get on with it. Getting a little too cold to wear your favourite mini? It's called winter, babes, deal with it.

Loadshedding? Come on, now. At this STAGE, if you don't have a power station like our deal on this one from Elecstor, that's on you. (And Eskom, obvs, but they're not going to buy one for you.)
