About

Goede Hoop Wine Estate is situated deep in a Stellenbosch valley known as the Bottelary Kloof. The estate is an absolute hidden gem in the industry. In 1928 the Bestbier family purchased the wine estate and today Pieter Bestbier is a third-generation winemaker on Goede Hoop. With a focus on ageing and cellaring to perfection, cellar master Pieter Bestbier maintains constant humidity and temperatures to create and maintain the perfect environment for wines to develop. The wines coming from the cellar are well structured and have years in them to further mature. Although released to be drunk, I would happily say that you could hold onto this wine for another 3-5 years drinking whenever that special occasion arrises.

Product Features
  • This wine oozes juicy ripe dark berry fruit and easy-drinking hedonism.
  • The depth of plummy blue fruit flavours and the supportive acidity means it will pair well with hearty dishes and would be a pleasing match for stews, pies and even hard cheeses.
  • Two hundred and fifty metres separate the lowest and highest vineyards and meso-climates abound as the temperatures and rainfall differences between these vineyards are considerable.
  • Vintage: 2013

Dreams are weird

They're like your brain's way of saying: you know what the world really needs? Nonsensical story lines that nobody questions and flying cars.

And even though we know they're absolutely bonkers and possess zero relevance whatsoever, we waste no time telling people all about them.

Sad fact: nobody wants to hear it. There is only one dream worth talking about, and that's Martin Luther King Jr's.

Anyhoo, last night we had a dream where we featured half off tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers live at the Department of Home Affairs. They weren't even performing. They just worked there. Crazy, huh?
