This beautifully structured Piekenierskloof Chenin Blanc presents white blossoms, tropical fruit, and hints of vanilla on the palate. It's rich, full and creamy with a well-balanced mid-palate and elegant apricot that lingers on the finish. This Chenin Blanc 2016 can be drunk right away but will easily hold for a further three years in the cellar.
In the Vineyard
Single block vineyard, planted in 1978 in the Swartland region. These bush vines grow on sandy, loamy soil and the vineyards are meticulously farmed and managed to yield below 3-4 tons per hectare.
Winemaking
The grapes were hand-harvested very early in the morning, in middle to end February, allowing the fruit to retain their natural flavour. Only free run juice was used. It was allowed to settle and inoculated with a selected yeast strain and fermented in new 500L French Oak barrels for 6 months. Four 500L French Oak barrels produced.
Food Pairing
This wine can be served and paired with a variety of spicy dishes like curries, full flavoured fish, roast chicken, duck, pork chops and truffles. Also ideal with crayfish, prawns and four cheese gnocchi.
And then just walk away like they haven't committed the biggest atrocity any kitchen has ever seen. They probably also make tea in the order: milk, hot water, sugar and then the tea bag.
It creates the perfect precipice of frustration: keep it bottled in and it'll eat away at you, but if you say something you're the overreacting party-pooper who sucks the fun out of everything.
We realise this might seem a little abstract (for context, somebody did this exact thing at the OneDayOnly headquarters at around 4 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon and it's been bugging us since) but it must be addressed on a grand scale so these perpetrators can understand the extent of their heinous crime.
Anyhoo, here are a truckload of great deals and if that doesn't immediately make you forget about all of your problems in the world, you clearly handle stress differently to us.
