About

An exceptional whiskey with the global accolades to back it up. This world-beating single malt comes to you with hints of spice, creamy vanilla, biscuity malts, and that unmistakable clout of dedication that embodies the outstanding spirit of Ireland.

This single malt whiskey is made using a mash bill of locally grown, locally malted barley with no smoke or peat in the malting process. Copper Pot Still. Double Distilled. Non- Chill-Filtered. These heavier double distilled whiskeys keep more of the base malt characteristics from the mash bill. They are aged in first- fill ex-Bourbon casks to compliment the malt characteristics perfectly. A whiskey aged cask by cask.

Tasting Notes
  • Nose: Deep butterscotch, honeycomb and rich lemon meringue balanced with citrus fruits and just a hint of a clove spice.
  • Palate: Jumps to the front with an intense vanilla fudge luxurious sweetness and almost rock candy mixed with touches of fruit - lemon citrus, peach and dried apricot. This is followed by deep spices; red peppercorn and light cloves. A truly velvety mouth- feel that just hovers on the palate.
  • Finish: Lingering spices sit on underlayers of robust malt characteristics and deep oak notes. And again vanilla fudge reoccurs with a finish that lasts an eternity.
  • Non- Chill-Filtered. Natural Colour.
  • Awards: Irish Whiskey Masters 2017 - Gold (Irish Single Malt - Super- Premium); San Francisco World Spirit Awards 2015 - Double Gold (Best Single Malt Irish Whiskey) & Gold (Best Irish Whiskey); Beverage Tasting Institute 2015 - Gold; Irish Whiskey Awards 2015 - Gold.

Here at OneDayOnly we pride ourselves on two things:

Our remarkable ability to remember quotes from practically any movie, and our skill in catering to almost any person in South Africa.

The latter is the harder of the two, because A) we haven't met everyone in the R of SA and 2) our personal tastes can hardly be used as a benchmark for things other people may enjoy.

Still, through sheer determination and never-miss-an-episode viewings of Egoli and Generations, we like to think we hit the proverbial nail on the head more often than not.

And in the almost unfathomable event that we're completely wrong and nothing on our cyber-shelves appeals to you, we'd like to leave you with the following gem from Lord of the Rings:

"Use the force, Harry." - Edward Cullen.
