Matcha Health Benefits:

Due to specialised production processes, Matcha contains 10 times more antioxidants and nutrients than regular green tea. Furthermore, when you drink Matcha you ingest the entire leaf and receive 100% of the nutrients of the leaf. Some of the health benefits of Matcha include:

  • Incredibly high in antioxidants that provide protection from harmful free radicals that cause aging, tissue damage and even some inflammatory diseases
  • Boosts metabolism and burns calories
  • Detoxifies and promotes digestive health
  • Boosts energy without the jittery feeling of coffee
  • High levels of L-theanine to promote Alpha brain wave activity
  • Aids in concentration and mental alertness
  • Calms the mind and relaxes the body
  • Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar
  • Strengthens immune system
  • Improves cardiovascular health
  • Can aid in reducing stress

How is Matcha Made?

Tea leaves grown for Matcha are gradually shaded for 3 weeks before harvest, until about 90% of light is blocked, leaving the plant growing in almost complete darkness. Shielding the plant from direct sunlight incites an overproduction of chlorophyll, increasing the nutrient and antioxidant content and contributing to Matcha’s distinctive bright green colour. Shading the plant also yields an increase in the amino acid L-theanine, which gives the drink its deep umami flavour and calming effect.

When the plants are ready for harvest, only the youngest most tender, emerald green leaves are hand-picked. Every batch of Supertea Matcha is tested and analysed for quality control purposes before processing.

The leaves are then steamed, dried, destemmed and deveined. The pure leaves, known as “tencha”, are then stone-ground into a fine powder.

This very fine powder is mixed with hot water rather than being steeped in water, this means that you get all the benefits of the Matcha tea in every cup you drink, whereas with regular steeped tea, 85-90% of the nutrients of the tea are thrown out with the leaves.

Storage:

Store your Supertea tin in the refrigerator or in a dry, cool, dark place. Ensure that tin is
closed tightly after each use to prevent any moisture from entering.

Expiration:

One year after grinding. It’s best to consume Matcha within 3 months after opening the tin.

Serving Size:

Use half a teaspoon or 1 bamboo scoop (about 2 grams – adjust to suit your need) per bowl or cup of Matcha tea.

Recommended Use:

Enjoy 1 serving each morning and 1 serving after lunch.

Serve hot for a warm, comforting and rich-bodied taste. Matcha tea is also delicious with a splash of milk or served as a latte. Serve iced for a silky-smooth and super-refreshing taste. You can simply shake it with cold water and ice in a bottle. Add Matcha to some of your favourite recipes like smoothies, waffles or cakes for a beautiful colour and added nutritional benefits.

24 hours isn't exactly a lot of time

Unless you're Jack Bauer, of course. Which you aren't. He's fictional - and unless artificial intelligence has come a long way in a short space of time, you're very much real.

If you consider yourself a professional procrastinator, 24 hours is barely enough time to read your emails, let alone respond. Especially if you sleep the recommended ten hours a night.

But it's all we give you to capitalise on our great deals.

And you've just wasted five minutes reading this and wondering how to make the simple act of email reading last a full work day.
