About
Established in 1698, Altydgedacht is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa. A partnership between the old and the new was formed in 2017 between two reputable Durbanville families; the Parker Family of Altydgedacht and the Van Der Merwe Family of VDMV Property Holdings. This marks the beginning of a new era for Altydgedacht.
Product Features
- The wine has a straw-coloured hue.
- Due to differential picking, the grapes impart a wide spectrum of flavours to the wine, ranging from green pepper and green fig to passion fruit and guava.
- Tropical fruit dominates on the palate.
- An inviting wine to be enjoyed generously as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to fish, sushi, poultry and selected vegetarian dishes.
- After fermentation, the wine was left on the gross lees for approximately 4 months prior to blending and bottling.
