His achievements boast 2 US Open wins in 2001 and 2004 and heading the European Tour Order of Merit in 2001 and 2004. In 2005, Retief Goosen with his friend and partner, Werner Roux decided to buy the farm, “Ganzekraal” (meaning 'Goose' 'Enclave') and started their journey together in the wine business - producing the world's finest and only "Goose Wines".

The Goose Wines have garnered glittering awards globally. This truly unique range is handcrafted in high altitude vineyards on the northern slopes of the Outeniqua Mountains, in the heart of the famous Garden Route. These world-class wines are vineyard specific. The Upper- Langkloof wine ward boasts low annual temperatures of around 17 degrees Celsius, creating elegantly styled wines with a classic finish. Particular care and precise farming methods, balanced with a biodiverse philosophy create a style and complexity of wine very rarely experienced.
