Christmas Eve's Wishes

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Mzansi
Not a pha was vrrrring, not even a kombi;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
And all the candles were ready, in case Eskom would dare.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of backyard cricket danced in their heads;
And mom and dad in the kitchen, still stuck doing dishes,
Wondering how long, before it all finishes.

Nevertheless, along came a saviour for a situation so dire.
You guessed right, it's a silicone liner for the Airfryer.
All suff'ring was done, woe betide the dishes.
For once, someone's considered the parents' wishes.
