Established in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass & Co. began with a man on a simple mission - “To make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it was intended.” In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for “loafing in the field,” and playfully dubbed them Weejuns – introducing the world’s very first penny loafer.
Worn by presidents and Hollywood legends alike, Weejuns have been a staple for some of the most influential subcultures in fashion history. 80 years later, Weejuns are still handmade ethically in our factory in El Salvador, using the same time-honored techniques pioneered in 1936.

Stand corrected
There's a big chance that, at some point or another, whether out of morbid curiosity or blind conviction, we tried to highlight our own hair at home. The late 90s saw an absolute barrage of Eminem lookalikes entering school doorways, and the word 'peroxide' was on everyone's lips.
