The 1999 GEL-KAYANO ™ 5 OG is back with its original build. After an initial sketch on paper, designer Toshikazu Kayano was quick to point out that the upper reflects the bone structure, organs and muscles of the human anatomy.
In the era it all started, this shoe introduced two enhancements to the model line - the teardrop tongue and the QUADRA lacing system.
These technologies work in harmony with each other to provide a better fit with better midfoot support.
The GEL-KAYANO ™ 5 OG shoe is injected with a GEL ™ cushioning technology in the heel for increased comfort, while the layered application of components has become the foundation that continues to influence the shoe's design today.
