It's fun fact time again! If you know more than one language, (and hopefully you do, this being South Africa and all), you will know that some languages have very similar words for the same thing. Take the Xhosa word for socks: 'iikawusi'. It's actually borrowed from the Afrikaans 'kouse'. Afrikaans, on the other hand, got its word for banana, 'piesang', from the Malay word, 'pisang'.
