Like the original AeroPress Go, the core feature of the Go Plus is that it comes with a container that holds the brewer itself and all of its related paraphernalia, and acts as a cup to brew into. Where the original Go’s container was made of food-safe plastic, the Go Plus comes with a more premium insulated stainless steel tumbler, which will keep your coffee hot for an extended period while the exterior remains cool to the touch. It also sports a lid which, unlike its predecessor, features a small, sealable opening to sip from, making it possible to use on the run, in the car, or in a similar situation. Additionally, the base of the tumbler can be screwed off and acts as a dedicated microfilter container.
The Go Plus brewer itself is essentially a standard AeroPress Clear. This is a pretty significant change compared to the original Go, which is a slightly smaller brewer. The upshot is that you can use any AeroPress recipe with the Go Plus, whereas with the original Go you’d have to make a few adjustments due to its smaller brewing capacity.
While the AeroPress Go Plus brewer is functionally identical to the standard AeroPress, its design differs slightly in service of its portability. The circumference of the plunger base is slightly reduced so that it can fit within the tumbler, and the “head” of the brewing chamber features a few notches and a gasket so that it can be sealed tightly into the tumbler, preventing water or minor coffee residue leftover from brewing and drinking from leaking.
All in all, the AeroPress Go Plus is, like the original AeroPress, a fantastic, fuss-free coffee brewer, now more portable than ever without compromising on brewing capacity.
