About

Walker Bay is synonymous with outstanding South African Pinot Noir. Nudged by the Bot River lagoon with vistas of the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyards enjoy cool daytime temperatures that drop even more at night. A beneficial diurnal range aids in even ripening and complexity, ushering the development of delicate fruit notes, fine tannin structure and bright acidity. Maritime winds encourage healthy vines that need minimal intervention.

Product Features
  • Confident and stylish, the wine entices with potpourri, cinnamon, pepper, hints of olive tapenade and a light perfume of sandalwood.
  • Centre to that is a solid midpalate with a rich yet fresh display of fruit set on tightly knit tannins to deliver a long, savoury finish.
  • Nuances of rose petals and bitter-sweet liquorice linger to add that extra bit of character.
  • The 2017 vintage took shape in a more old word style with restraint, tension and a savoury coat that adds a classic Syrah personality.
  • It is underpinned with freshness and finesse, resulting in a wine with a leaner frame, typical of this cool climate.
  • Its seductive personality makes it a great choice for hearty South African stews.
  • Its underlying freshness cutting through rich and fatty flavours.
