About

Founded by two young South Africans, be.bare was born out of a desire to empower others & equally ourselves to make greener, more ethically-minded choices in our daily personal care regimes.

When you ditch the bottle & switch to solid haircare, you’re not only reducing your plastic footprint but also helping to save our most precious resource. Water is life, and with the increasing scarcity of this liquid gold posing a threat to many parts of the world, it doesn’t make sense for it to comprise as much as 90% of the average bottled shampoo & conditioner when water is already available in your shower.

Our range of four shampoos – including their Top To Toe that doubles up as a shaving bar – are packed with wonderful, natural ingredients like coconut & castor oil and cacao & coconut butter to gently cleanse & care for your hair for a healthy mane & happy scalp.

The Crowd Pleaser

The delicate, soft scent of our Crowd-Pleaser has been likened to the aroma of rose Turkish delight – and it almost looks just as good to eat too! Pastel pink & packed full of natural goodness, this bar contains the comforting, sweet note of rose geranium (a plant native to South Africa) balanced with a hint of zesty citrus oils. The purifying properties of both grapefruit & lime help to cleanse the hair & control natural oil production on the scalp, while plant-based butters & moisturising castor oil serve to soften, hydrate & promote healthy hair growth.

Tame That Mane

The richest & creamiest of all our shampoos, Tame That Mane combines the wonderful properties of organic raw cacao butter, virgin coconut oil & Mozambican coconut butter to make for a supremely nourishing cleanser. For all those in need of some extra TLC for their tresses, this bar will help caress frizz, repair damage & replenish moisture. It smells deliciously decadent too: think chocolate & whipped coconut cream dessert for your hair! Mmm…

The Headmistress

If greasy hair is the bane of your existence, trust in this invigorating burst of citrus to discipline your mane & get that oil slick under control! Sweet orange, petitgrain (derived from the bitter orange tree) & white grapefruit combine to form a super effective, revitalising shampoo that banishes grease & brightens dull, flat or lifeless hair.

Deep-cleansing & clarifying (without stripping & drying, which just creates more oil), The Headmistress’ nutrient-rich lather also helps to strengthen your roots & restore optimal scalp health.
