About

Moses Rombayi lives in Orange Farm, a township in South Africa together with his wife Bertha and his daughter Mercy Ciera (aged 5).

On the 16th of May 2018, Moses’ youngest child, Bradley Elisha (less than 2 and a half years old) died under tragic circumstances after he accidentally got hold of rat poison. This tragedy has left a terrible and painful void in the Rombayi family.

One of nine children, Moses lost his mother at the tender age of 12 years old and this is when he became ill and contracted polio. Unfortunately, he did not receive timeous medical treatment but despite his disability, he does not let this divert him from sharing his talent.

Moses has always had a very positive outlook in life and he decided to change his life, and in 2009 he moved to South Africa from Zimbabwe to start his career as a tailor.

It was during these initial years that he watched fellow seamstresses where he learnt and developed his love for toys. Toys bring a smile to people’s faces and he wants to share this happiness with the world.

He purchased some patterns, but they were very scarce, so he practised making and perfecting patterns and the stitching thereof. He takes great pride in the quality of his toys. He uses fabric which is donated to him and purchases authentic African inspired fabrics to give true authenticity. All his toys have zips so the stuffing can be taken out for ease of washing. Toys have labels and washing instructions can be added where required.

Moses has created a special edition Unicorn dedicated to his son called the Elisha Unicorn. Elisha means “God of Salvation”.

In order to increase his productivity, Moses is looking to purchase two new sewing machines namely, an embroidery machine and a button hole machine. We are looking for sponsorship of these machines to take his business to the next level. We have set up a gofundme account should you wish to donate. Here is the campaign link: gofundme.com/moses-rombay

Moses does training at the Redeeming Hope for the Disabled Shelter in Lenasia. He has just completed his first training programme and due to the success thereof, the second one is in the planning stages.

His dream is to sell his toys globally and to take his family on a holiday to the UK. Every Christmas, Moses donates toys to charity in his quest to inspire the youth to believe in themselves and to follow their dreams, just as he did!

We're running the Cape Town marathon today.

Not we, as in the good hard-working copywriters of OneDayOnly. But enough of the staff members have entered for us to use the collective "we" without technically lying.

And we wish everybody running the best of luck, as we recline on the couch and chase a Bar One with a Sterie Stumpie. Extra fries > exercise.

We only tell you this because (insert gross assumption here) we know there's every chance you're going to perennially underachieve by comparison today - being a Sunday and all - and we hope to guilt you into making a comfort purchase.

Or buy something of your own accord. It's up to you. We're happy either way.
